Window Widgets is pleased to announce delivery of a brand new Leyland DAF lorry! This 18 Tonne monster will join our fleet of Mitsubishi Canters, and is branded in the distinctive Window Widgets black and pink livery. We now have the capacity to carry ‘a staggering’ 15 Window Widgets pink stillages and 2 pallets. This increase in volume will allow us to make more deliveries in stillages, and we can now also collect your ‘empties’. Customers are asked to return these empty stillages on the lorry once empty, making it easier than ever for you to return them to us.

This asset to our company means we will be able to keep delivering excellent customer service, offset recent rising fuel costs and keep sticking to short lead times on deliveries to you. We also hope to reduce any damage of your goods and improve deliveries, giving you a great service.

Missing stillages will be charged at £150 each.

The image shows a Pilaster conservatory in the Chartwell Green finish in a double hipped Edwardian design. This range of decorative “oversize” featured posts and couplers has now been taken on by 20 or so of the UK’s top end retail companies including one of the largest retail brands in UK. Window Widgets were approached by Ultraframes largest roof fabricator - Prefix Systems and asked to develop a solution for an emerging problem. The result... Retro-Fix Couplers are designed to take the loading of a conservatory roof and therefore allow for the replacement of a tired old polycarbonate roof with a new glass one. Developed in conjunction with Prefix, who exhibited alongside Window Widgets, the couplers have been developed for inline, 90° and 135° applications and come complete with a finishing trim in white and a number of foiled options - www.prefixsystems.co.uk.

Window Widgets has long been famous for supply of cornerpost and bay solutions for sash windows. The range was extended with in-line, cill and ring beam solutions enabling VS’s to be installed into conservatories. Window Widgets won the Glassex 2010 Product Innovation Award for its Multibeam product for conservatories.

Multibeam is a new product which is perfectly suited for gable ends, bi-folding door openings and the integration of vertical sliders into a conservatory installation. This was also co-developed with Prefix (www.prefixsystems.co.uk) and gained the coveted Product Innovation Award at Glassex thanks to its ability to be used on a wide number of conservatory applications.

The product is in effect an additional ring beam and is offered in standard and heavy duty options to provide structural strength. Multibeam has been designed for the leading conservatory roof systems and can be fitted during the installation process or even retrofitted.

Dan Gill, managing director of Window Widgets commented: “We had a great show and were surprised with the number of quality leads we received and we were particularly delighted with the Product Innovation Award for Multibeam. The new conservatory products proved particularly popular as we continue to grow our range of innovative products for fabricators and installers.”

Window Widgets has taken delivery of a new set of injection mould tools to manufacture a range of 4" (100mm) traditional styled house numbers. The intention is to launch at Glassex (17-20th October 2010) in an range of colours and finishes. Dan Gill comments "Plastics can now be electroplated in a range of high specification finishes including chrome. The automotive industry has driven this technology and we intend to launch a range of numbers at a fraction of the cost of metal numbers which currently dominate the market. I think that customers will be impressed at the quality of the finishes available and we think that there will be interest from trade counters, door panel manufacturers, composite door fabricators and installers. Glassex @ Interbuild takes place at the NEC Birmingham 17-20th October 2010. Window Widgets has booked its biggest ever stand for the event. Window Widgets is well known for supply of frame corner protectors. Mindful of price pressures that fabricators are under and of rising raw material costs, we are pleased to announce the arrive of new high speed tooling. The new design will run on our new Low Energy 200Tonne moulding machine. The tooling was trialled mid-June and the pictures show the first shots coming from the new tool. Made from recycled material and on Low Energy machines the product has green credentials. Work is progressing well on fitting out the new offices and showroom. Window Widgets products are best displayed in situ on full sized installations and the new showroom will create a great place to professionally install bays etc to convey the appeal to installers and homeowners. A domestic brochure will be created from the photography so that installers can convey the aesthetics and technical features of the product to homeowners. The second delivery of bespoke stillages has arrived in the distinctive MAGENTA company colour. Designed with NEW products and racking in mind, the stillages will improve the company’s ability to roll out an aggressive product development plan and meet existing demand. With the phenomenal sales demand for its Werbar products, the company intends to place its next stillage order in the coming weeks. The order for bespoke stillages marks a milestone in the development of the company and is indication of the tonnages that are now being achieved. The stillages are 6000mm long which provides support and protection for the product along its whole length.

Following clarification on several matters from BFRC, Window Widgets now have a number of fabricators who have achieved an A-Rating with official BFRC simulations.

Window Widgets is pleased to report that Werbar sales have gone from strength to strength and a new record was set in April. The affect of the negative press from some in the Industry has only served to benefit us because fabricators call and are reassured by our comprehensive and well thought through technical arguments. We now have our own BBA Air and Water test reports which serves to reassure fabricators as it is an independent test with no commercial angle.

Numerous customers have tried just a few hundred metres and are now ordering half and full stillages. Some customers are taking pallets of pre-cut Werbar lengths for use in door frames and cills.

Werbar is in stock and available and can assist in improving your energy ratings. When used responsibly, it can offer numerous commercial, environmental and technical advantages over conventional reinforcement materials.

Consider using Werbar for other non WER applications e.g. a weldable reinforcement for cills? Stronger welds? Door Midrails?

Window Widgets are pleased to announce that they have moved to a new state of the art Head Office and Warehousing facility.

Extending to over 21,000 Sq, the site is around a year old and just off J12 M5 Quedgeley West Gloucester. The site will bring together the company’s Injection Moulding facility with the distribution warehouse. While the site isn’t hugely larger than the previous facility, Window Widgets has invested in motor driven cantilever racking to maximise the use of the high eaves and to improve space efficiency. The warehouse has around 800A of power which will enable the company to increase the capacity of its low carbon injection moulding facility with brand new low energy machines.

The new facility has extensive office accommodation which has been converted to provide a clean room R+D workshop, rapid prototyping, CNC production cells, showroom, a training school and sales offices. There is a disabled lift, canteen facility and all rooms are networked and have overhead projection facilities.

We extend an invitation to our customers at any time to visit and we hope to hold an open day in the summer when we hope to have a press day and a commemorative event.

This vehicle is one of 3 identical trucks which expands the fleet to 4 which runs alongside David Hathaway our haulier partner to enable us to meet our customers short lead times.

Window Widgets is now manufacturing its own range of cost effective glazing packers. Delivered in buckets of mixed sizes 1-6mm thick, these packers are manufactured on our new energy efficient machines and so are cost-effective. If you want to save money then give us a call.

The design is new in that the packers are all manufactured in the same colour, but have the number stamped out representing their thickness. WW believes that the cost savings of this manufacture process together with its simple numbering system will win over the traditional colour coding system where you need to run 6 tools simultaneously in order to get the 6 different colours. Numbers were invented for a reason! What could be easier? By the way, what colour was a 2mm packer? No one we asked seemed to know.

The product is delivered in buckets with tamper proof lids. They stack, they are sturdy and installers recycle the bucket for all sorts of jobs on site. The packaging has advantages through the supply chain from the trade counter (they stack for point of sale displays), the fabricator (they are easy to pick and stack well). White and Cream Foiled Finishes. In response to your requests, we now stock a fairly comprehensive range of our coupler and bay trims in the new Renolit White and Cream. Some time ago we also added the black foil to the range. New Injection Moulding Machines. In November, Window Widgets took delivery of 3 new Enaiviv Energy Saving Injection Moulding Machines. 2 Technicians from Taiwan spent a week on site commissioning the 60 Tonne, 120 Tonne and 200 Tonne Machines, complete with dryers, hopper loaders and conveyors. The machines utilise up to 78% less energy than conventional machines, which obviously has commercial and green advantages. They are the first of these types of machines to enter the Uk and represent a significant investment by WW. Window Widgets is keen to win moulding business and is now well placed to do so. The first new product to run in the 200 Tonne machine is a range of cost effective Glazing Packers.
